Amund Skiri has signed a new contract with KBK. The head coach has extended his contract with Kristiansund Ballklubb until the 2029 season. – It's here I will be! It's here I will work together with the rest of the great team in KBK to become a better football team. The daily life here is developing and fun, and I look forward to going to work every day. It's a good feeling to have signed, says KBK's head coach. See video: Amund Skiri came to KBK in August 2023 and promoted from OBOS-ligaen in December the same year. The last three seasons have seen the Romsdaling lead KBK in Eliteserien, with a team that has distinguished itself with a large proportion of young and local players. – The quality of the season we had in 2023, with the promotion match on Intility Arena and that we went up on the first try, it was incredibly big. And it's nice that a club like Kristiansund can compete with the big ones in Eliteserien. We reached the semifinals in the cup and beat Rosenborg and Molde last year. Among the highlights this year are the win against Brann in the first round, and it was nice to win on Åråsen last. Skiri sees a big potential for improvement in Kristiansund Ballklubb. – You must not see limitations, you must see opportunities. If you measure from how big the city is and who has the best economy, you can put limitations on yourself. But that's not where it's decided. It's more about how good you are at working together, what culture you create, how well you train – and it's possible to achieve even if you don't have the most money. So we work with the assumption that we have equal opportunities to succeed as the others in Eliteserien. See video from the promotion in 2023: Sportslig leder Eirik Hoseth in Kristiansund Ballklubb is glad to get the new agreement in place. – We are very satisfied with what Amund has achieved in KBK, and he has still got a lot of development potential after only a few seasons as head coach at the top level. He also has values and attitudes that match how KBK wants to appear. Together with the rest of the club, we look forward to playing on the team to develop this further and perform together as a club in the years to come. Amund has an exceptional ability together with his team to develop and refine young players, and that makes us confident in the choice and the agreement we have now agreed on. Daglig leder Christian Gauseth in KBK thinks it's an important piece that is now in place for the long-term development of the club. – Amund has been attractive to other clubs, and KBK shows strength by getting this extension. We will be Norway's best development environment in the years ahead. Then it's crucial to have the right people on the team, and Amund is our man – plain and simple. Gauseth thinks Skiri sends a signal to the whole of Football-Norway by signing this contract. – He shows an enormous trust in the project we are working on. It gives a huge enthusiasm and a signal to players all over the Nordic region that if you want to become an elite player, then Kristiansund is the destination in the years to come, says Gauseth. Amund Skiri and KBK are ready for the big match on Nordmøre stadion this weekend: KBK–Viking has kick-off on Sunday at 18.00.
